Behind every positive and welcoming school environment is a genuine and intentional effort from educators. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the amount of strategies available. Yet, it can be difficult to distinguish between what works from what is a distraction.

It probably does not take long to come up with a long list of the culture-building initiatives that take place in your school. You likely have done everything from participating in dress-up days to hanging posters and putting on assemblies.

And while we are completely in support of a great assembly or an effort to increase school spirit, we also think that there’s one really powerful thing you do for students and school culture that is often underestimated.
