FAQs

  • Core Day Leader Conference is a training to certify facilitators of Core Day. Core Day is a powerful student experience within your school that builds community, creates connection, and ignites compassion and understanding. In a fun and interactive format, an experience in Core Day awakens an innate sense we all possess, which is, that we all need belonging. Through large group activities, meaningful discussion, and a safe atmosphere, students will feel closer to others, learn how to give and receive support, and walk away with a life-changing belief that we are all a lot more alike than we are different. In addition, if your school is using the Core Lessons curriculum, Core Day serves as a perfect launch to the year—actively engaging staff and student leaders in an experience of building connections, leading discussions, and intentionally creating an environment that fosters growth and learning.

  • Certification means that you will be fully empowered as a facilitator of Core Day. You will be entrusted with proprietary program materials and be able to confidently provide your school and students with a time-tested and life-changing program. The three main responsibilities of a Core Day Leader include: Scheduling and preparing the logistics for Core Day Preparing staff and student leaders to participate in Core Day Facilitating small and large group activities and discussions with up to 100 students

  • Core Day is for students in grades 5-12. We reccommend working with up to 100 students at a time for each 3 hour session.

  • All our trainings and curriculum are based on providing experiences as a pathway to learning. Therefore, you can expect to learn by engaging in activities and dicussions. This training will provide a great balance of presentation techniques and a ton of fun. You will meet other educators, be challenged, grow as a leader, be equipped to work with large groups, learn advanced facilitation techniques, and return to your school with everything you need to provide a meaningful Core Day experience.

  • There is a lot that goes into effectively keeping the attention of students in large groups, while also creating an intimate and trusting learning environment. Therefore, participants will learn how to: Build rapport and connect with EVERY kind of student. Navigate difficult interpersonal dynamics. Avoid getting rattled! Participants will learn how to address difficult moments and challenging behaviors to maintain connection and keep the program moving in a positive direction. Shape how and what they communicate, to ensure they are having the best influence on individuals and the group to avoid inadvertently turning off the group. Facilitate large & small group activities, debrief meaningful discussion, and use their own unique facilitation styles.

  • If being a Core Day Leader has piqued your interest, and if you like the idea of having full access to make Core Day your own, then this training is right for you. We extend a warm invitation to teachers, administrators, counselors, paraprofessionals, coaches, or anyone else who gets excited about helping students become and stay connected to their school and peers.

  • This cost includes three full days of training, single occupancy lodging at the Hampton Inn & Suites, breakfast and lunch for three days, one dinner, necessary materials, access to proprietary Core Day program, and Core Day™ Leader Certification. The fee also includes an optional 2 hours of follow up consultation with The Core Project staff.

  • We recommend coordinating your travel to Spokane International Airport (GEG), a 45-minute drive from Coeur d'Alene. Consider booking a rental car or ride-share service for transportation from the airport to the conference hotel.
